India, Egypt elevate bilateral ties to strategic partnership

After a joint media interaction with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El –Sisi, Prime Minister Modi said the two countries have decided to take the bilateral trade to $12 billion in the next five years. They have also decided to take concrete steps against cross-border terrorism and radicalisation.

Delhi-Dhaka ties have a long way to go

At the outset of 2021, a new controversy erupted over the delivery of AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine. Bangladesh inked an agreement for 30 million doses of vaccine with the Serum Institute of India (SII). Although India gifted 3.2 million doses as a token of friendship, failure of timely delivery of the agreed doses threw Bangladesh into a deep vaccine crisis.
