Fresh from a historic mandate, 202 out of 243 seats, the NDA government under Kumar carries the weight of enormous expectations. Voters have entrusted him with a sweeping margin of 167 seats over the Grand Alliance led by RJD’s Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, reflecting a deep and unmistakable faith in his leadership.
Nitish Kumar will be sworn in as the chief minister for the 10th time on Thursday. Kumar has already served as Bihar's Chief Minister nine times, including a brief seven-day stint in 2000, which ended due to a lack of majority.
During the campaign, Kishor had predicted a sweeping victory, claiming the party would either win the most seats or come last, with no middle ground. However, his electoral plank, centred on education, unemployment and law and order, did not translate into votes.
Samajwadi Party MLA Ravidas Mehrotra said Akhilesh Yadav should take charge of the INDIA bloc, stating that Yadav’s party has organisational strength and public appeal. Adding to claims, Mehrotra said that the Samajwadi Party was strong enough to form a government on its own in Uttar Pradesh.
His comments came in the aftermath of allegations made by Acharya who claimed her brother Tejashwi Yadav blamed her for the alliance's poor performance, triggering her decision to quit politics and "disown" her family.

Speaking at a public rally in Samastipur, he said the atmosphere in Mithila clearly shows that Bihar will once again vote for progress and reject the “jungle raj” of the opposition.
The Election Commission has mandated that no political party, candidate, organization, or individual shall publish any advertisement in print media on the poll day, and the day preceding it unless the content is pre-certified by the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) at the state or district level.
The move is aimed at ensuring free and fair polls, in exercise of the plenary powers conferred on it by Article 324 of the Constitution and Section 20B of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, the poll panel said in a press note on Sunday.
