State BJP chief Suresh Kashyap credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this historic moment and said since the formation of BJP government at the Centre in 2014, the Central government had been working to ensure the construction of Shri Ram Mandir.

In November last year, the Supreme Court had paved the way for the construction of Ram temple at the disputed site at Ayodhya, and directed the Centre to allot an alternative five-acre plot to the Sunni Waqf Board for building a new mosque at a 'prominent' place in the holy town in Uttar Pradesh.
Meanwhile, the ‘bhumi pujan’ for the proposed Ram temple in Ayodhya will begin at 12.30 pm today with Prime Minister Narendra Modi performing the ‘Shila Pujan’, ‘Bhumi Pujan’ and ‘Karma Shila Pujan’.
PM Modi and four other persons -- RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, Ram Mandir Trust Chief Nritya Gopaldas, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and CM Yogi Adityanath -- will be on the stage for the mega event.
Apart from scores of diyas, Rangoli made with flowers added colour to the Chief Minister's residence.
The silver coin, on one side, has the image of Ram Darbar which includes Lord Ram, Sita, Laxman and Hanuman and on the other side is the insignia of trust.
Acharya Satyendra Das, said, 'As one of my assistants, Pradeep Das, tested Covid positive on July 30, the trust has asked me not to enter Ram temple premises for three days. I will not be performing 'bhumi pujan' as other priests have been engaged for that ceremony.'
