Court said that it granted bail to Gonsalves and Ferreira while considering that almost five years had lapsed since they were taken into custody.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta on Friday vehemently contested the Supreme Court order allowing activist Gautam Navlakha, accused in Bhima Koregaon case, to be placed under house arrest.

The bench, also comprising Justices Ravindra Bhat and Bela Trivedi said there was no reason to interfere with the Bombay High Court order.
'We shall seek legal opinion on the matter. We shall also discuss the matter with the Chief Minister before setting up a Special Investigation Team,' Home Minister Anil Deshmukh said.
