Speaking to reporters, the mayor said the allegations were intended to mislead Delhi residents and grab headlines rather than address genuine environmental concerns.
He stated that the 45 lakh metric tonnes of legacy waste accumulated at the Bhalswa landfill site will be disposed of before October 2 next year.
During the inspection carried out by the civic body officials, it was observed that over 90 per cent of the bamboo saplings planted at the site have exhibited the emergence of new leaves, indicating healthy growth.
The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) recorded the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) of Delhi at 312 at 11 am.
