In his letter, Marandi referred to a tender issued by the Jharkhand Agency for Promotion of Information Technology for installation of CCTV cameras in all police stations in compliance with High Court directions.

Marandi alleged that illegal sand mining was being carried out openly from the Subarnarekha river in the Bhuiyandih area of Jamshedpur, where sand is allegedly extracted using boats, stored in sacks along the riverbank and later transported for sale.
Referring to reports of ACB questioning of former excise commissioners Amit Kumar, Karn Satyarthi and Faiz Ahmed, Marandi said their statements indicated serious irregularities and abuse of authority.
