The opposition Congress on Wednesday flayed the BJP-led Assam government, accusing Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma of using the Assam Accord issue to distract the public from alleged corruption involving his family.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma revealed that the initiative would provide specialised training to 300 engineering graduates in fields like Robotics, Aerospace, Defence, and Artificial Intelligence.
“The Congress and extremist elements provoked the encroachers, resulting in violent confrontations with the police. The slogans used were disturbingly similar to those heard in Bangladesh,” Sarma said in a press briefing.
Announcing the development on micro-blogging site X, CM Sarma emphasised that this initiative marks a major milestone for his administration.
This appeal comes in the wake of an alleged increase in threats from unidentified organisations and extremist groups.
As concerns over safety and justice grow in the wake of the tragic incident, the Chief Minister emphasized his administration’s dedication to ensuring justice for victims of crimes against women.
Himanta Biswa Sarma emphasised that his state is maintaining rigorous surveillance, allowing entry only to individuals with valid passports, visas, and verified citizenship.
Highlighting the risk of North Eastern rebels returning to Bangladesh, CM Sarma emphasized the pivotal role played by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in dismantling terrorist groups.
On Saturday, Sarma performed the Bhumi Poojan ceremony for the Tata Semiconductor facility in Jagiroad, alongside N Chandrasekaran, Chairman of Tata Sons.
