According to a senior officer, “We received a tip-off, and acting on it, our team laid a trap near the Laxmi Nagar railway bridge close to Akshardham Metro Station on Thursday and apprehended a 22-year-old man, Talha Azhar, from Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun.”
The accused, Shahnwaz, a resident of Babarpur, was identified through CCTV footage and local intelligence, police said, adding that the vehicle was also seized.
According to the police, the four men were linked to foreign-based gangsters Harry Boxer and Rohit Godara.
“The arrested men were involved in Rohit Shaukeen’s murder and firing at singer Rahul Fazilpuria,” said Sandeep Kumar, Public Relations Officer (PRO), Gurugram Police.
The police said the gangster, who has been identified as Sumit, was a resident of Ramrai Village in Haryana’s Jind. He was nabbed with a loaded semi-automatic pistol and three live cartridges.
