On Wednesday, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said the probe into the firing incident should be carried out by a central agency.
Modi on Monday will address three back-to-back Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Vijay Sankalp Sammelan rallies in the poll-bound state.
Shah's remarks came while chairing the first session of the third 'No Money for Terror' Ministerial Conference on the 'Global Trends in Terrorist Financing and Terrorism' theme.
Till now, Congress holds the record of winning the maximum number of seats ever. In 1985, under Chief Minister Madhavsinh Solanki's leadership, it bagged as many as 149 seats in the 182-member Assembly.
The conference aims to carry forward the discussions on combating terrorist financing held by the international community in the previous two conferences in Paris (2018) and Melbourne (2019).
