Amandeep Drall roared back into form with a solid card of 4-under 68 to take a share of the four-way lead after two rounds in the 12th Leg of the Women’s Pro Golf Tour at Clover Greens here on Thursday.
The golfer from Panchkula carded her third consecutive round of 1-over 71, finishing with a total of 3-over 213, and clinched the title by a two-shot margin—her first win in nearly 15 months since March 2024.
Amandeep Drall, who finished second on the Women’s Pro Golf Tour Order of Merit 2024, is all set to lead the field in the opening event of the new season as the WPGT makes its first-ever stop at the Golmuri Golf Course here on Wednesday.
It will be an exciting week with 46 players, the highest ever on the Hero WPG Tour and the prize purse will be a whopping Rs. 25 lakhs.
Amandeep, overcame two early bogeys and a double bogey later held on for 1-under 71 and a total of 10-under 278.
Amandeep is 9-under 207, while Gaurika is 5-under 211. Khushi Khanijau (72-71-69) with the best card of the day moved to third place at 4-under 212.
Amandeep, who will be travelling to play on the Ladies European Tour next month, shot rounds of 69-71-70 and finished three shots clear of Seher Atwal.
She overcame mid round hiccups to return the second day's best card of 1-over 71 on Wednesday.
Another contender Shweta Mansingh also had a good start as she returned 1-over 71 to be tied third alongside Astha Madan and Khushi Khanijau.
The duo shot 1-under 69 each at the BPGC in Mumbai and were one ahead of Mysore golfer Disha Kavery (70), who is only in her third season as a pro.
