Police officials confirmed that charges of abetment to suicide and criminal intimidation are set to be invoked against the former minister.
The deceased’s daughter, Harsirat Kaur, alleged that her father had been under severe pressure in the days leading up to his death.
Before his death, the government official recorded a brief video message on his mobile phone, claiming he took the extreme step out of fear of the former minister.
The case has been transferred to the CBI for further investigation in accordance with orders of the Supreme Court, Mumbai Police said.
As per the reports, the family has accused the actress of abetment of suicide and alleged that she cheated him financially and mentally harassed him.
Mitkari's suicide note said the woman was aware that he was married but nonetheless was continuously after him, demanding to have sexual relations with him, police said.
