Former Pakistan seamer Shoaib Akhtar was brutally trolled by Twitterati after he declared himself ‘Don of Cricket’ on the micro-blogging site, Twitter.

“Don of cricket as they called me but never enjoyed hurting people but I must say when I was out there I just ran in for the love of my country & for the people around the world ..”, Shoaib Akhtar wrote on Twitter.

Shoaib Akhtar had led Pakistan’s world-class bowling attack for so many years when he used to don the green jersey. However, Akhtar calling himself ‘Don of Cricket’ didn’t go down well with the fans as they responded to his Tweet by sharing the videos of India’s batting great Sachin Tendulkar hammering the Pakistan bowlers.

Here is how Twitterati reacted to Shoaib Akhtar’s post:

Last month, the 43-year-old pacer had announced his resignation from the post of advisor to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman. Akhtar had, took to Twitter and declared his ‘immediate’ withdrawal from the post and wrote, “This is to announce that I have resigned from the post of Advisor to the Chairman #PCB effective immediately. @TheRealPCB #ShoaibAkhtar.”

Shoaib Akhtar has represented Pakistan in 46 Test matches and claimed 178 wickets at an average of 25.60. Fondly known as the ‘Rawalpindi Express’, Akhtar has played 163 One Day Internationals (ODI) for and bagged 247 wickets. The stylish right-arm pacer has also represented his country in 15 T20I’s.
