In another major twist to wrestler Narsingh Yadav saga, World Anti Doping Agency (WADA) on Tuesday appealed against the clinch chit given to him by the National Anti Doping Agency (NADA) on doping issue and banned him for four years.
WADA has summoned Narsingh for hearing on Thursday. Now, Switzerland-based Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) will take the final call on him, who is set to take part in Rio on August 19.
Earlier, Narsingh was exonerated of doping charges by the NADA on August 1.
The 27-year-old won an Olympic quota with a bronze medal finish in last year’s World Championships, which was provisionally suspended after he was tested positive for a banned substance Methandienone, which jeopardised his chances of participating in Rio Olympics.
The NADA accepted Narsingh’s sabotage claims and said the wrestler can’t be held responsible for the acts of his competitor.
