N Srinivasan, former Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC) and former President of the BCCI, and Anurag Thakur, former President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have refused to attend the International Cricket Council’s hearing on Pakistan Cricket Board’s $70 million (about Rs 500 crore) claim against India for twice refusing to play a bilateral series.

The three-day hearing starts in Dubai on October 1.

Rajeev Shukla, the chairman of the Indian Premier League (IPL) said, “As far as BCCI vs Pakistan Cricket Board dispute is concerned, my own view is that both the Boards should resolve it amicably instead of lingering it in ICC. BCCI always wanted to play with Pakistan but there are certain issues for which we need government’s nod to go to Pakistan to play matches.”

“Wherever international matches are organised by ICC or Asian Cricket Council, we always play with Pakistan, this time we played at a neutral venue. There is no question of paying money to Pakistan Cricket Board,” said Shukla as reported by ANI.

“For so many years many nations didn’t visit Pakistan to play matches. I think no official from India should attend ICC hearing. India shouldn’t pay money to Pakistan Cricket Board,” said Anurag Thakur.
