In a sad day for sporting fans across the globe, Boxing legend Muhammad Ali died at a Phoenix hospital at the age of 74.

He had been battling the dreaded Parkinson’s disease for over three decades now, and recent respiratory complications had raised a red flag as doctors had warned that a way out for the champ seemed unlikely.

Born Cassius Clay, the legend was famous for walking the talk each time he stepped into the ring and was truly the original showman.

Never afraid to speak his mind, he famously refused to be enlisted in the US Army to fight in the Vietnam war, and had plenty of iconic quotes attributed to him, chief being "It’s hard to be humble when you are as great as I am."
