Daniil Medvedev earned a personal-best 64th tour-level win of the season when he defeated long-term rival Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-4, 7-6(6) to reach the Vienna Open final for the second consecutive year.
Daniil Medvedev, the World Number 7 on Wednesday defeated Miomir Kecmanovic by 6-0, 6-3 to advance into the Adelaide International quarterfinals.
27-year-old Medvedev thrashed Serbian Kecmanovic in 67 minutes to emerge victorious. As regards their head-to-head tally, now Medvedev has won all the 3 times the duo had faceoff and has also won all the 7 sets they have played.
The Russian star Tennis player is now all set to battle Karen Khachanov for a place in the semifinals.
“I played a little bit better today than yesterday but also Lorenzo played really good tennis hitting lines,” Medvedev was quoted by Adelaide International as saying.
He further added “Sometimes high-level tennis is about hitting shots and a few points. Miomir didn’t manage to do the same but I’m happy with myself. I think I played better, served probably a little bit better.”
