Scores of football fans became unruly at the Brazilian national team’s training site here amid an overwhelming turnout for an open practice ahead of next month’s FIFA World Cup in Russia.

With the crowd exceeding all expectations, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) moved to limit access, spurring protests by some 200 disappointed fans on Friday, reports Efe.

Coach Tite authorised public access to Friday’s training session, as it will be the team’s last in Brazil before leaving for Europe to continue training for the World Cup.

A few months ago, Tite announced his wish for Brazil to play a friendly at home before travelling to Russia, but the idea was scrapped by the CBF.
