Amitabh Bachchan praises Dipa Karmakar for her World Challenge win

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan never shies away from praising the people who achieve their dreams and create an example. We have often seen Amitabh cheering and sending across encouraging messages to the players from different fields of sports.

This time, Big B took to Twitter to congratulate ace Indian gymnast Dipa Karmakar who won gold at the Artistic Gymnastics World Challenge Cup. He said he was a proud Indian because of her.

On Monday morning (July 9), he posted a tweet along with a photograph of Dipa Karmakar that read: “Congratulations to Dipa Karmakar. She has won gold in the world championships for gymnastics on the vault. You proved to the world that what was wrongly denied to you in the Olympics, you won it here. Proud of you. We are proud Indians because of you!”

Dipa will now feature in the Indian gymnastics squad at upcoming Asian Games. The Tripura girl who returned to action after two years due to an injury bagged gold in the women’s vault event at the Artistic Gymnastics World Challenge Cup on Sunday held in Mersin, Turkey.

Last night (July 8), Big B also congratulated the Indian Cricket Team for wining T20 series. His tweet read: “CONGRATULATIONS … !! India wins the T20I series ! MAGNIFICENT ! Rohit you are a sensation ! and Hardik you were simply glorious ..”

There are reports that he along with son Abhishek Bachchan and daughter Shweta Nanda Bachchan will fly to Russia for the 2018 FIFA World Cup final on June 15. He is currently shooting in London and will be heading to Russia from there.
