The teaser dropped on June 12, eight days before it was supposed to. By the same afternoon, Salman Khan's lawyers were in Delhi High Court seeking an urgent stay. The director has since said he will not stop.

The lawyer further clarified, “No such amount was ever received by Mrs. Shilpa Shetty Kundra. Since the matter is currently subjudice, we cannot reveal further details."
The film is India’s official entry for the Best International Feature Film category at the 98th Academy Awards, announced by Karan Johar, whose Dharma Productions backed the project.
The series, directed by Shah Rukh’s son Aryan Khan and streamed on Netflix, allegedly shows content that Wankhede calls “false, malicious, and defamatory."
