Sheena Newman warns against counterfeit skincare products

In today’s global marketplace, counterfeiters are more than happy to charge you the same price or less like an original skincare item. However, a fraction of the resources go into making these imitation products. “Many times, you are receiving a product which is bad for your skin,” says Sheena Newman, who is the founder and CEO of TALIX Organics. “More often than not, you have purchased goop with an expensive label on it,” Newman continues to say.

The 31-year-old Los Angeles based beauty and fashion entrepreneur is a self-made multi-millionaire who is known for being forthright about her desire to make a global impact. On social media, Sheena Newman often provides advice to her fanbase on business, health, wellness, and lifestyle tips, to name a few.

Like most millennials, Newman is not afraid to speak her mind. Sheena is particularly concerned about the way counterfeiters in her industry take advantage of consumers.

According to Newman, “Even reputable online retailers are crawling with counterfeiters who post ‘fake’ product(s) right next to the authentic item. These counterfeiters sometimes charge the same amount as the original. Other times, they will mark the product(s) as on sale or clearance, to target shoppers who are looking for a good bargain. Either way, their profits are substantial, and the buyer receives far less than what they paid for.”

“These counterfeiters don’t hold themselves to the same standard,” she continues. “They don’t even meet the fundamental safety standards of the FDA [Food and Drug Administration].”

According to a 2018 report from the US Government Accountability Office, the sale of counterfeit goods is at an all-time high. In a study, 20 of 47 randomly purchased items (including cosmetics) were found to be counterfeit.

To combat this issue, TALIX Organics prominently advertises on their official website where consumers can safely purchase their products. According to Sheena Newman, “I am extremely proud of the brand we have created. Determined to achieve the highest levels of performance, quality, and safety, I spent a great deal of time, money, and resources to exceed the standard in organic skincare.

“After two and a half years of research, development, testing, sourcing, and production, the Rose Quartz Hydra Glow was born. Formulated with a powerful multi-vitamin complex containing Vitamins B3, B5, B6, C & E, the Rose Quartz Hydra Glow is everything you need to bring your skin to life,” she adds.

“Do your research,” Sheena Newman says. “If you can not confirm where a product comes from, do not buy it. Your health is worth more than the money you would save.”
