Yogi talks tough about women security

Yogi Adityanath

Asserting that when half of the population is secure, the entire society is secure, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday issued a stern warning to the miscreants, saying that those who breach the safety of women will be “hunted down even if they hide in the depths of inferno.”

Speaking at the inauguration/foundation stone laying and assistance fund distribution ceremony of 256 development projects worth Rs 632 crore in Transport Nagar, the CM emphasized that there is no caste of a mother, a sister, or a daughter, urging everyone to unite in safeguarding their safety, respect and self-reliance.

The CM said that when the dignity of women is ensured, investment follows naturally. He pointed out that over the past nine and a half years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has tirelessly strived to elevate the respect and dignity of half the population.

“The Nari Shakti Vandan Act is poised to be a significant milestone. Now the mothers and sisters of the state will get the opportunity to be elected to one-third of the seats in the Assembly and Lok Sabha, like the Panchayat and local bodies.”

CM Yogi pointed out that before the double engine government entering the scene, Uttar Pradesh was a ‘BIMARU’ state, known for frequent incidents of unrest, chaos and anarchy. Unfortunately, this situation had even made it unsafe for daughters to attend school.

The Chief Minister said, “Currently, we have taken forward the fourth edition of Mission Shakti. This edition is also a campaign to once again effectively protect the dignity of women, enhance their respect and pave the way for their self-reliance.”

This mission was launched in 2020, and taking this forward, the double engine government is taking forward programs for the welfare of women. He also pointed out that under the PM Awas Yojana, Prime Minister Modi has given houses to many women of the country, making them rightful owners of their houses. In Uttar Pradesh alone, 55 lakh sisters have received their own homes through this program, he informed.

CM Yogi said: “Our daughters Parul Chaudhary and Anu Rani of Western Uttar Pradesh have brought laurels to the country as well as ‘mother power’ by bringing gold medals in the Asian Games. Our government will directly appoint both daughters as Deputy SPs. Apart from this, by organizing a function in Lucknow, an assistance amount of Rs 3 crore will be given to those who won gold medals in the Asian Games, Rs 1.5 crore to those who won silver medals, and Rs 75 lakh to the players of Uttar Pradesh who won bronze medals.”

CM Yogi distributed an amount of Rs 72.90 crore to 2,528 self-help groups of ‘National Rural Livelihood Mission’ and Rs 29.02 crore to 54 beneficiaries of ‘One District, One Product Programme’. Apart from this, CM Yogi provided Rs 19.16 crore to 175 beneficiaries of ‘Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme’.

Following his speech, CM Yogi interacted with entrepreneurs from Bulandshahr, discussing their concerns. During the conversation, he highlighted the state’s new industrial policy and reassured entrepreneurs of comprehensive policy support from the government. The event was attended by several high-ranking officials, along with MSME entrepreneurs from the district.
