Vijay promised the creation of “anti-drug protection zones” in every school and college across the state. “Our primary goal is to make Tamil Nadu drug-free,” he said.

He also pledged that all government examinations will be held on schedule, removing delays that have plagued students in the past.

Monthly financial assistance for graduates and diploma holders

As part of his student welfare plan, Vijay announced a monthly financial assistance scheme. Under this, graduates will receive Rs 4,000 and diploma holders Rs 2,000 each month.

Highlighting his broader vision, Vijay stated, “We aim to transform the youth from job seekers into job creators.” To this end, he introduced two ambitious initiatives:

– Local Employment for Local People – ensuring 75% of jobs in Tamil Nadu are for Tamils.

– Creative Entrepreneurs Scheme – designed to nurture talent, program aims to train 1.5 lakh creators into entrepreneurs and establish 500 creative schools across the state.

Key Contestants: DMK, AIADMK, and TVK

The electoral battlefield is set between two major alliances. DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance (SPA) includes DMK, Congress, DMDK, and VCK, while National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by AIADMK, counts BJP and Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) as partners.

Vijay, with his TVK, aims to carve out a third front, challenging both traditional powerhouses.

In Perambur, he will face DMK’s sitting MLA RD Shekar. In Trichy East, his opponent is Inigo Irudayaraj, also a sitting DMK MLA.
