Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Kashi this evening for a two-day visit and will launch the Vande Bharat train tomorrow morning. The new Vande Bharat train, running between Varanasi and Khajuraho, will promote both religious tourism and eco-tourism.
Rahul Mehta, President of the Tourism Welfare Association, stated here on Friday that tourists and pilgrims visiting Kashi are eager to visit Khajuraho. ”Traveling from Kashi to Khajuraho will be a significant step in promoting both religious tourism and eco-tourism. Panna National Park (Tiger Reserve) is just a few kilometres from Khajuraho. Another important aspect is that millions of foreign tourists visit Khajuraho and the Tiger Reserve. Now, they will be able to travel directly to Kashi by the Vande Bharat train,” he said. Mehta added that the third important thing is that there was no fast train from Varanasi to Chitrakoot.

“Varanasi, Vindhyachal, Prayagraj, and Chitrakoot will be developed as a circuit. Tourism professionals have been demanding a fast train between Varanasi and Khajuraho for many years. Now, this dream will come true tomorrow. The Vande Bharat Express will significantly increase the number of tourists and pilgrims in the future,” he further said.

The direct connectivity of the Varanasi-Khajuraho Vande Bharat Express will save approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes compared to the currently operating special trains. The Banaras-Khajuraho Vande Bharat Express will connect India’s religious and cultural destinations: Varanasi, Prayagraj, Chitrakoot, and Khajuraho. This will not only strengthen religious and cultural tourism but also give a new dimension to the tourism industry.
In addition, three Vande Bharat Expresses from Lucknow to Saharanpur, Firozpur to Delhi, and Ernakulam to Bengaluru, among other destinations, will be virtually flagged off by PM Modi tomorrow.
