White Paper exposes Kerala’s Rs 5.07 lakh crore debt crisis
The White Paper on Kerala's Finances titled "Kerala's Fiscal Health: A Status Report" has officially revealed that the state's total public debt has escalated to Rs 5.07 lakh crore.

The bodies of two female students, who were staying at a Sports Authority of India (SAI) hostel in Kerala’s Kollam as sports trainees, were found hanging from the ceiling in a room on Thursday.
The girls, studying in Class 10 and 12, were found hanging from a hook of the ceiling fans. The incident came to light when their training mates and coaches checked the room after the duo failed to turn up for morning session training.

The deceased have been identified as Sandra (17) from the Kozhikode district and Vyshnavi (15) from the Thiruvananthapuram district. Sandra was an athletics trainee studying in Plus Two, while Vyshnavi was a kabaddi player and a Class 10 student

“When repeated knocks on the door went unanswered, hostel authorities broke open the door and found both girls hanging from ceiling fans in the room,” police said.
The Kollam East Police have launched a probe into the incident. “The reason for the deaths is yet to be ascertained and no suicide note has been recovered from the room,” the police said.
