SC refuses to cancel anticipatory bail granted to Swami Avimukteshwaranand in POCSO case
The apex court declined to entertain a petition against the Allahabad High Court order, allowing legal protection from arrest for the accused to continue.

Swami Avimukteshwaranand’s health has deteriorated while he was sitting outside his camp at the Magh Mela on the banks of Sangam in Prayagraj on Friday morning.
He has been staging a sit-in outside his camp since 5 pm on January 18. After developing a fever this morning, he went into his vanity van at 10 am, but at 2 pm, he came out of the van and sat on a palanquin in front of his camp and continued his protest.

However, Swami Avimukteshwaranand has not yet sought any medical advice.

The saint has been sitting outside his camp since a dispute with the police on Mauni Amavasya. He is demanding that the fair administration allow him to take a bath with due respect.
Considering the crowds and his health on the occasion of Basant Panchami today, he did not take out the Gau Pratishtha Prerna Yatra (Cow Dignity Inspiration March).
He had said yesterday that he would visit all the sadhus and saints on Basant Panchami to meet them and take a pledge to get the status of ‘National Mother’ for the cow, but due to his ill health, the march has been postponed.
Yesterday, UP Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya had appealed to Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati to end his protest and even sought an apology on behalf of the authorities.
