Senior BJP leader, former state president, and MLA from Una, Satpal Singh Satti launched a scathing attack on the Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu-led Congress government, accusing it of political vendetta and discrimination against BJP constituencies.

Addressing a press conference in Shimla on Saturday, he alleged that the state government is halting development works, shutting down welfare schemes, and misleading the public with empty promises.

Referring to the Seraj constituency, Satti said, “Former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur had laid the foundation for a ₹240-crore Horticulture and Forestry College.”

“An initial installment of ₹10 crore had been released, land was identified, forest clearance obtained, and work had begun. However, after coming to power, the Congress government stalled the project and is now trying to shift it elsewhere under the pretext of disaster-related concerns.”

He pointed out that both the Chief Minister and the Revenue and Horticulture Minister Jagat Singh Negi had assured the Assembly that the project would not be scrapped. Despite this, the government quietly withdrew the allocated funds, which, according to Satti, reveals the gap between promises and actions.

Satti further alleged that when Negi visited Seraj after 26 days, the local population protested, demanding the continuation of the project.

“People waved black flags, but instead of addressing their concerns, the government used police force to suppress the protest. FIRs were filed against around 60 individuals, and several people were arrested,” he charged. He also claimed that male police officers misbehaved with female protestors, calling the incident “deeply shameful.”

He alleged that the Congress government is trying to silence public voices by using police and administrative machinery to threaten dissenters.

Praising the central government for consistently supporting Himachal during natural disasters, Satti said that financial aid had been extended earlier and more would follow. He accused the state government of stalling work, spreading misinformation, and engaging in divisive politics.

Referring to a ₹240-crore project in Pekhubela, Una, Satti said it was completely submerged due to poor planning and irresponsible execution, which exposed the inefficiency of the current government.

“People are frustrated. Rains from above and Sukhu on the ground are making life miserable,” he said, taking a dig at the Chief Minister. “Time has come to replace this ruler,” he added.

Satti also raised concerns over rising incidents of cow smuggling and deteriorating law and order, alleging that the accused are being shielded due to political patronage.
