Samajwadi Party MLAs staged a strong protest over issues related to the budget and trade policies ahead of the budget presentation in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly on Wednesday. Party leaders stated that the central government’s policies are being determined under external pressure, which will impact the economy of the country and the state.

Samajwadi Party MLA Atul Pradhan alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has “compromised” the interests of the country and that trade deals were allegedly made under pressure from the Epstein Files.

He said that such agreements will cause significant harm to Indian farmers. Atul Pradhan also said that the Prime Minister is working under pressure from Trump.

SP MLAs demanded that the interests of farmers, youth, and the general public be prioritised in the budget, and that national interests be given primacy before any international deals.

During the demonstration, tight security arrangements were in place at the Assembly premises to keep the situation under control.
