The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday arrested another key associate of Dr Umar Un Nabi, the prime accused in the Red Fort bomb blast.

According to the NIA, Jasir Bilal Wani alias Danish allegedly “provided technical support for carrying out terror attacks by modifying drones and attempting to make rockets”.

Danish, also a resident of Jammu and Kashmir, was arrested from Srinagar.

“Jasir had allegedly provided technical support for carrying out terror attacks by modifying drones and attempting to make rockets ahead of the deadly car bomb blast which killed 15 persons and left over 30 persons injured,” the anti-terror agency said in a statement.

The NIA said that Danish was an active co-conspirator and had worked closely with Nabi to plan the November 10 terrorist attack near the iconic Red Fort in Delhi.

Death toll in Red Fort bomb blast rises to 15

Meanwhile, the death toll in the Red Fort bomb blast has risen to 15 after two more vicitms succumbed to their injuries.

According to the Delhi police, one victim succumbed to his injuries on Sunday, while another died today.

Earlier on Sunday, the NIA had arrested a Kashmiri resident who had conspired with prime accused Dr Umar Un Nabi to carry out the terror attack that claimed 13 innocent lives and left over injured 20 others.

After taking over the case from the Delhi Police, the Central probe agency had launched a massive search operation to look for any associates of the Red Fort bomber and arrested his associate Amir Rashid Ali from Delhi.

According to the agency, the Hyundai i20 car used in the Red Fort attack was registered in the name of Ali. “The accused, a resident of Samboora, Pampore in Jammu and Kashmir, had conspired with the alleged suicide bomber, Umar Un Nabi, to unleash the terror attack,” the NIA said in a statement.

According to the anti-terror probe agency, Ali had come to Delhi to facilitate the purchase of the car used as “a vehicle-borne Improvised Explosive Device (IED) to trigger the blast.”
