2024 LS polls: PM Modi says INDIA bloc ‘anti-Sanatan’
The PM asked the gathering whether a person who does not approve of Bharat Mata Ki Jai should get entry into Parliament.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said the “real essence of a democracy” is ‘Jan Bhagidari’ (people’s participation) and integrating people in the development journey of cities and villages.
The Prime Minister said, efforts have to be comprehensive and outcome driven. Addressing a function to mark the birth centenary celebrations of Nanaji Deshmukh in New Delhi today, Mr Modi called for making urban facilities available in villages.
He said, lack of sanitation facilities is adversely affecting the development journey of villages and the government is working to overcome this and build toilets in rural areas.

Speaking at the birth centenary celebrations of Sangh Parivar veteran Nanaji Deshmukh in the national capital, Modi said: “The real essence of a democracy is Jan Bhagidari (people’s participation) and integrating people in the development journey of cities and villages.”
He emphasised that regular ‘samvad’ (dialogue) is required among people and the governments.
Modi further said just having the best ideas for development are not enough and that initiatives have to be completed on time so that the fruits of development reach the intended beneficiaries.
Before his address, Modi paid floral tributes to Deshmukh as well as political leader Loknayak Jaiprakash Narayan on their birth anniversaries.
