President Ram Nath Kovind on Monday paid tributes to former president R. Venkataraman on his birth anniversary.
Kovind, along with officers and staff of Rashtrapati Bhavan, paid floral tributes in front of a portrait of R. Venkataraman at the Durbar Hall of the Rashtrapati Bhavan, an official statement said.
In a tweet, Kovind said: “paid floral tributes to Shri R. Venkataraman, former President of India, on his birth anniversary, at Rashtrapati Bhavan today.”

Born Dec 4, 1910, Venkataraman was India’s eighth president from July 25, 1987 to July 25, 1992. He died Jan 27, 2009.
