Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership India has changed its Surakshya Niti (defence policy) to practically exhibit zero tolerance against terroritism. In 2016 we did make surgical strikes to kill terrorists storming their lands, in 2019 we effected Balakot air strikes to destroy terror camps deep in their own land while sitting back home. The Operation Sindoor last year had changed the whole history (of our fight against terroritism.
This conveyed effectively the message to whole of the world about India’s resolve and capabilities, the defence minister, asserted.
While lauding the high role and respect to women in our glorious history, culture and the social life, Singh said that the Modi led NDA government has also been following the old tenets.
With this spirits only, the government was making efforts to provide to women 33 per cent quota (seats) in the Lok Sabha and the state assemblies.
However, the Opposition parties did not like it and defeated the Bill that we brought in the Lok Sabha for effecting the requisite constitution amendment.
However, from this historic town of “Bhakti & Shakti” -that has the glorious history of high status of woman folks- that the bill has certainly been defeated, but, our resolve would not be diluted, sooner or later we would get the Bill passed, no one would be in a position to prevent us from according the reservation quota for women”, the defence minister retorted.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Union Minister for Tourism Gajendra Singh Shekhawat also Spoke.
The scion of Jodhpur Royal family Gajsingh, the Rajasthan Heritage Protection and Promotion Authority (RHPPA) Chairman Onkar Singh Lakhawat and several dignitaries were present.
