Probably for the first time the judiciary is taking an interest not only in organising an International Yoga Day tomorrow but also asking judges (sitting and former) and legal staff to assemble to listen to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address from 6:40 am to 7 am at the new campus of Rajasthan High Court in Jodhpur.
In its revised notice, the Registrar-Administration of the Rajasthan High Court, dated 18 June 2022, invited all the present and former judges residing in Jodhpur, officers of Registry, Advocates, and all other officers/officials of Rajasthan High Court to assemble in the garden of Ceremonial Gate of the HC campus sharp at 6:30 am to listen to the address of the PM from 6:40 am to 7:00 am from Mysuru on the occasion of Yoga Day.
The ceremony will also be streamed live on the YouTube link which will be available on the website of the Rajasthan High Court www.hcraj.nic.in). Kindly cooperate and take all preventive measures against the spread of Covid-19, the notice added.
In its first order, the Registrar has invited the same audience to participate in the YOGA exercise in the morning but later issued the revised notice.
Reacting to this exceptional notice, Rajasthan PCC President Govind Singh Dotasara told SNS, “We have been saying that all constitutional institutions are working under the pressure of the Central government whether it is the CBI, the ED, the IT or the judiciary. That is why the judiciary too is losing public faith. Why judicial officers should listen to PM speeches like Mann ki Baat on Yoga Day. They (legal luminaries) shall listen to kanoon ki baat, as Mann ki Baat may be fictitious too.”
