The Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission today issued a letter to the Secretary, Punjab School Education Department, directing the suspension of Principal Rekha Mahajan of Senior Secondary School, Muradpura, district Amritsar.
Providing details, Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission Chairman Jasvir Singh Garhi stated that Principal Rekha Mahajan had allegedly used casteist language against DPE teacher Jorinder Singh. He added that the complaint against Rekha Mahajan was found to be valid by a two-member committee constituted by the Education Department.

The Chairman further informed that the Secretary of the School Education Department has been instructed to take immediate action in the matter. A report has also been sought from the Director, Secondary Education Department, who has been asked to appear in person with the report on January 29, 2026.
