Electricity supply through diesel generators (DG), which was disrupted on Wednesday, was restored at Noida’s Supertech Ecociti in Sector 137, after senior police officials intervened. However, residents say issues likey water supply, lift maintenance and security continue to plague the society amid the ongoing tussle between the builder and the Apartment Owners’ Association (AOA).
Following Wednesday’s late-night drama, diesel generator (DG) recharge amounts have now been credited to the accounts of residents by the builder and emergency power supply has stabilised for the time being.

In order to maintain the order, police personnel have also been deployed at the housing society till March 25.

However, residents alleged that several essential services, inckuding water supply, lift maintenance and security have deteriorated in the last couple of weeks following the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT)’s order that maintenance and day-to-day operations in Supertech Ecociti and one other society be handed over to registered AOAs within 30 days of the order dated February 23.
Speaking to the Statesman, Om Dutt Sharma, Vice President of the AOA, alleged that the builder has been “creating disruptions” and the handover process has not started despite the tribunal’s order.
“Electricity issue resolved for now after higher officials from police intervened. Police deployed till 25th. On paper builder says I will continue till 25th, but disruptions have increased in the last 15 days,” Sharma said.
On the issue of water supply, Sharma said that the AOA was froced to arrange tankers after water pumps were allegedly damaged by the builder.
“Water issues… AOA had to bring tankers. Builder broke motors, we arranged repairs. Some water pumps are missing, we have bought new motors. We are trying to manage the situation on our own as vendors have also refused to come till March 25,” he said.
Gaurav, a resident of the society, also flagged the issue of lifts, alleging that maintenance has been neglected and lifts are not working properly for the past several days.
“Lift issues remain. AOA is trying to manage, but builder is neither doing it himself and vendors are reluctant to help the AOA,” Sharma said, adding the association has done a tie-up with a firm for the maintenance of lifts.
‘Builder removed gaurds a day after Red Fort bomb blast’
Security arrangements in the society have been hit, with the AOA vice president alleging that the builder had removed most of the guards a day after the Red Fort bomb blast in December last year.
“Builder removed guards the next day of the Red Fort blast. Security is still with the builder. Guards have been reduced to 40 per cent, and housekeeping to 30 per cent. AOA has arranged 12 guards for critical points,” he said.
Sharma also claimed that the builder is not helping with the handover process despite NCLT order. “They have not given any documents so far for the handover… they should have done that in the first week after the NCLT order as AOA would also need some time to understand the process and manage day-to-day operations.
The Statesman tried to contact Nitish Arora, CEO of YG Estates, and Ritesh Sharma, Manager, but they didn’t respond to our calls.
