Daily yoga will drive away all diseases: PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday urged athletes from across the globe to help spread awareness about yoga beyond the World Yogasana Championship.
During the event, PM Modi will lay the foundation stones or inaugurate projects worth over Rs 34,200 crore, aimed at benefiting people across the country and strengthening India’s maritime and infrastructural capabilities.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to propel India’s maritime sector to new heights with the inauguration of the ‘Samudra se Samriddhi’ programme in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, today.
During the event, PM Modi will lay the foundation stones or inaugurate projects worth over Rs 34,200 crore, aimed at benefiting people across the country and strengthening India’s maritime and infrastructural capabilities.

“Today, 20th September is an important day for India’s maritime sector and our quest towards self-reliance. At around 10:30 AM, will take part in the ‘Samudra se Samriddhi’ programme in Bhavnagar,” PM Modi said in a post on handle X.

“Works worth over Rs.34,200 crores will be inaugurated or their foundation stones laid. These will benefit people across India. Key policies relating to the shipping sector will also be our focus,” he added.
The programme includes a wide range of infrastructure and maritime development projects, with investments exceeding Rs 7,870 crore in the maritime sector alone. Among the key initiatives is the inauguration of the Mumbai International Cruise Terminal at Indira Dock, which is expected to give a major boost to India’s cruise tourism industry. In addition, a new container terminal will be inaugurated at Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port in Kolkata, and a new container berth along with cargo handling facilities will be launched at Paradip Port. The Prime Minister will also launch ship repair facilities in Patna and Varanasi, with Varanasi also receiving a Freight Village to support inland cargo movement.
As part of a broader strategy to promote growth and employment, the government also plans to develop maritime clusters, including one in Gujarat, aimed at enhancing the country’s shipbuilding capacity and promoting job creation.
The event will also feature the inauguration of renewable energy projects, including a 280 MWac/400 MWdc solar project and the launch of a 600 MW Green Shoe Initiative, highlighting the government’s commitment to sustainability. Furthermore, the four-laning of 70 km of national highways will be inaugurated to improve regional connectivity.
PM Modi has emphasized the importance of India’s maritime sector in driving the country’s progress and prosperity. He has stated that the government will continue to strengthen the maritime sector and ports, which play a crucial role in India’s economic growth.
The ‘Samudra se Samriddhi’ programme is a significant step towards realizing PM Modi’s vision of a stronger, more self-reliant India that plays a leading role on the global stage.
