Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said India handled the West Asia crisis well but the Opposition is continually spreading rumours ‘to create an atmosphere of fear’.

He was speaking at a public gathering at Vav-Tharad in Banaskantha district, where he inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for development projects worth approximately Rs 20,000 crore for North Gujarat.

As the ongoing conflict in West Asia continues to impact energy flows, PM Modi asserted that the Government of India has managed to keep prices of diesel and petrol in the country under control.

Referring to the present global situation, the Prime Minister noted that while many countries are grappling with war, instability, and soaring fuel prices, with diesel and petrol prices rising by 10 to 25 per cent even in superpower nations, India has kept the situation under control through its successful foreign policy and the unity of its people.

“In nearly every country around the world, the prices of diesel and petrol have risen. However, India has managed to keep these prices under control, protecting its citizens from the impact of these increases. The Congress party is unable to accept this, and as a result, continually spreads rumours to create an atmosphere of fear and cause unnecessary panic, leading people to queue for petrol, diesel, and LPG cylinders,” PM Modi said.

“Today when many countries in the world are facing war, unrest and instability, India is not only maintaining stability but moving forward on the path of development every single day,” the Prime Minister said.

Recalling the nation’s united response during the COVID pandemic, the Prime Minister urged citizens to stand together during the current challenging times as well.

“India has not only maintained stability while the world struggles, it is moving forward on the path of development every single day, and today’s projects are another example of this resolve,” said PM Modi.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi inaugurated the Kaynes Technology semiconductor plant in Sanand, Gujarat, marking the commencement of production at the facility.

Noting that he was present in Sanand on February 28 for the start of production at the Micron plant and returned exactly a month later for the Kaynes milestone, the Prime Minister underscored the momentum of India’s semiconductor journey.

“This is not merely a coincidence , it is proof of the speed at which India’s semiconductor ecosystem is developing,” remarked PM Modi.

Earlier, the Prime Minister also inaugurated the Samrat Samprati Sangrahalay, Jain Heritage Museum at Koba Tirth in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, on the auspicious occasion of Bhagwan Mahavir Jayanti.

“Koba Tirth is steeped in spiritual tranquillity, a place where the tapasya of so many Jain Munis and saints finds expression, and where creation and service naturally blossom,” said PM Modi.
