The meeting comes amid efforts to enhance cooperation in areas like technology, defense, and infrastructure. India and South Korea have been working to diversify their trade and investment portfolios, with Seoul seeking to increase its stake in India’s growing market.

The leaders discussed ways to take their partnership to the next level, building on existing agreements like the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). Modi and Lee emphasized the importance of collaboration in emerging technologies, including semiconductors and renewable energy.

The meeting reflects India’s growing engagement with key partners in the Indo-Pacific region, as it seeks to bolster its economic and strategic interests.
