Over the past few years, PM Modi’s engagement with the Christian community has remained consistent. In Easter 2023, he attended Easter celebrations at the Sacred Heart Cathedral, Delhi, while during Christmas 2023, he hosted a festive programme at his residence at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg. In 2024, the Prime Minister attended a Christmas dinner at Minister George Kurian’s residence and participated in a programme hosted by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India (CBCI).
Meanwhile, the festival of Christmas is being celebrated across India in full swing. Cities and towns have been beautifully decorated with lights, bells, wreaths, glowing stars, and Christmas trees, while markets showcase festive décor featuring Santa Claus and holiday-themed ornaments. The festive spirit is visible nationwide as people celebrate with family and friends.
Christmas Day, celebrated every year on December 25, marks the birth of Jesus Christ and carries a universal message of peace, love and harmony. Families gather to share meals, exchange gifts and sing Christmas carols, while churches hold special prayer services, creating an atmosphere of faith, joy and hope. The festival is celebrated worldwide with great enthusiasm and holds deep significance for the Christian community.
