Putin ties Ukraine peace deal to concessions, claims Russian forces are gaining ground

Prime Minister Narendra Modi gifted Russian President Vladimir Putin with a copy of the Bhagavad Gita in Russian, as well as a gift pack of fine Assam Black Tea, an Ornate Silver Tea Set, a Handcrafted Silver Horse, a Marble Chess Set and Kashmiri Saffron.
PM Modi personally gifted President Putin with a Russian-language copy of the Bhagavad Gita, which he described as a source of inspiration for millions across the world.
He gifted President Putin with some flavorful Assam Black Tea which is grown in the Brahmaputra plains. The black tea was recognised with a GI tag in 2007. The tea is also valued for potential health benefits, making each cup both comforting and wholesome. The tea is prized for its robust malty flavor.

The Ornate Silver Tea Set, is from Murshidabad and full of intricate carvings, reflecting the rich artistry of West Bengal and the deep cultural importance of tea in both India and Russia.
The Handcrafted Silver Horse is from Maharashtra, adorned with intricate detailing, showcasing the finesse of India’s metal craft traditions. It symbolises dignity and valour celebrated in both Indian and Russian cultures, and represents the “ever-advancing India-Russia partnership”.

The handcrafted Marble Chess Set is from Agra, highlighting the region’s stone inlay heritage under the ‘One District One Product’ (ODOP) initiative. It features stone inlay work using marble, wood, and semi-precious stones, highlighting North Indian artistry.
PM Modi also gifted the Russian leader with Kashmiri Saffron. The saffron is cultivated in the higher regions of Kashmir, and is protected under GI and ODOP recognition. Renowned for its health benefits, this “red gold” is valued for its rich color, aroma, and health benefits, reflecting Kashmir’s traditional heritage.
The Russian leader was in India on a two-day visit for holding summit level talks with PM Modi.
