Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal on Tuesday to address a rally of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) supporters in the city’s Jamboori Maidan.

Billed the ‘Karyakarta Mahakumbh’, the rally is aimed at shoring up the party’s support base ahead of the assembly elections to be held in the state later this year.

Describing ‘Karyakarta Mahakumbh’ as the “world’s biggest political workers’ rally”, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the hard-working party workers will be looking forward to the address by the Prime Minister.

“Looking forward to interacting with the hardworking karyakartas of BJP Madhya Pradesh at the Karyakarta Mahakumbh in Bhopal today,” the PM Modi said in reply to a tweet from Chouhan earlier today.

Party chief Amit Shah, too, will be present at the rally which is being held on the birth anniversary of party co-founder Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya.

About 13 lakh people are expected to participate in the ‘Karyakarta Mahakumbh’ rally as party workers from 230 assembly seats in the state are taking part in the programme.
