Patna court defers hearing on Khan Sir’s bail plea

Faisal Khan, famous as ‘Khan Sir,’ on Tuesday received interim relief from the Patna Civil Court in connection with the legal dispute involving educator Roshan Anand.

While adjourning proceedings till July 3, the court sought additional documents from the investigating authorities.

The court has asked the police to submit an updated case diary in connection with the matter along with a verification report on the arms licences of Faisal Khan’s personal bodyguards.
It observed that further consideration of the anticipatory bail application will take place after the required documents are placed on record. Until then, Khan continues to enjoy interim protection from arrest.
The case is related to the violent confrontation between individuals associated with coaching institutes run by Khan and Anand. As per police officials, tensions between the two sides escalated on the night of June 2 and led to vandalism in the area.
Further, police received allegations that gunshots were fired in the air during the incident. It has been claimed that Khan’s personal security personnel fired the shots to create panic and intimidate the crowd.
After the incident, Patna Police registered an FIR against Faisal Khan, Roshan Anand, their security personnel, and other unidentified persons under various provisions.
