Patanjali Yogpeeth celebrates its 32nd foundation day in Haridwar, with Swami Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna outlining a global vision for Sanatan values, education, yoga, and Ayurveda.

Haridwar witnessed vibrant gathering on January 5, 2026 as Patanjali Yogpeeth celebrated its 32nd Foundation Day. The event brought together saints, scholars, students, yoga practitioners, senior leaders of Patanjali movement.
At heart of the celebrations were Swami Ramdev, Founder President of Patanjali Yogpeeth, and Acharya Balkrishna, its General Secretary. Both leaders used the occasion to reflect on Patanjali’s journey.

Addressing the gathering, Swami Ramdev described Patanjali as one of the world’s most sacred institutions working for humanity. He said Patanjali’s spirit is deeply connected with Sanatan values, which he believes are universal and timeless.
He urged students studying in Patanjali’s gurukuls, universities, and educational institutions to feel proud of India’s ancient wisdom. According to him, yoga, Ayurveda, Indian education, and a disciplined lifestyle can awaken limitless knowledge, devotion, inner strength.
Swami Ramdev reminded students that they are descendants of great sages and should reflect the values of India’s spiritual heritage in their lives. “Our conduct should reflect wisdom, courage, compassion, and truth,” he said.
One of the strongest messages of the day focused on education and India’s global standing. Swami Ramdev said that when Patanjali’s gurukul system, universities, and the Indian Education Board fully mature, India’s global image will transform.
He confidently stated that one day, the Indian rupee will become stronger than the dollar, pound, and euro.
He added that when Indian traditions, festivals, education, and ethics gain global respect, the value of the Indian passport will rise, and Indians will be welcomed across the world with pride.
Swami Ramdev made a prediction during his address. He said that people across the globe are increasingly turning towards spiritual and value-based living.
According to him, over 200 to 250 crore people worldwide are already preparing to adopt Sanatan values, and in the coming years, 80 to 90 percent of the world’s population will follow Sanatan principles in some form.
He emphasised that Sanatan Dharma is not limited to religion but is a complete way of life based on harmony with nature.
Swami Ramdev stressed that modern healthcare systems are facing challenges, and the world is looking for sustainable solutions. He said yoga, Ayurveda, and naturopathy will soon be accepted as global systems of medicine.
Calling it “the need of the era,” he said these ancient Indian sciences focus on prevention, balance, and natural healing, making them suitable for the future.
He also stated that the Indian Education Board will emerge as a global model, offering a balanced blend of traditional wisdom and modern knowledge.
While speaking on national strength, Swami Ramdev said India must become a powerful, prosperous, and fearless nation. He added that a strong India built on courage, discipline, and self-respect would make hostile nations uncomfortable.
He also commented on international events, calling the arrest of Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro and his wife by the United States as undemocratic.
Acharya Balkrishna, speaking at the event, gave a detailed account of Patanjali’s journey from its early days to its present scale.
He described the journey as challenging, demanding, and full of ups and downs, but said the mission never stopped moving forward.
He credited Swami Ramdev’s determination and vision as the driving force behind Patanjali’s expansion into education, healthcare, research, and agriculture. “It has been my fortune to walk alongside him in this service journey,” he said.
Acharya Balkrishna said Patanjali faced resistance, criticism, and attempts to slow it down. However, he noted that for every obstacle, there were many more forces that supported the mission.
He emphasised that Patanjali’s presence forced FMCG companies to stop uncontrolled price hikes, which benefited common consumers across the country.
Despite limited government support, he said Patanjali managed to create historic changes in multiple sectors through self-reliance and discipline.
Highlighting Patanjali’s agricultural work, Acharya Balkrishna said the organisation was the first to start organic farmer training programs in 19 states.
He shared that when Prime Minister Narendra Modi selected 22 progressive farmers from across the country, five of them were trained by Patanjali.
He also spoke about Patanjali’s work related to cow-based products, organic ghee, sustainable farming practices stating that these efforts brought positive change to rural livelihoods.
Students from Patanjali’s educational institutions showcased impressive performances during event. Their presentations included yoga demonstrations, mallakhamb, wrestling, martial arts, boxing, judo, karate.
The performances reflected physical discipline, confidence, and the integration of traditional and modern sports.
Several service-oriented individuals were also given organisational responsibilities.
