Partition days revisited on Vibhajan Vibhishika Smriti Divas

Inter-University Accelerator Centre(IUAC) and Consortium for Educational Communication (CEC) jointly organised the Vibhajan Vibhishika Smriti Divas to recall the struggles of those who lost their lives and others who were uprooted from their homes during the Partition of British India into two new countries — India and Pakistan.

IUAC Director Prof Avinash Pandey graced the occasion and exhorted that the country had achieved its freedom after many years of struggle with lakhs of people suffering the process of Partition.

Comparing the British rule in India to an autoimmune disease, he said that the British had left the country with something very similar. In an autoimmune disease, the immune system fails to identify its own cells and starts attacking its own healthy cells.

Prof Pandey urged that we need to keep away the forces and the thoughts that can break the country.

An eminent historian Prof Kapil Kumar graced the occasion and said that script of the Partition was written by the British who wanted to divide India into many parts. He also said that we need to learn from the mistakes made by the then Congress leadership which led to bloodshed which was worse than a civil war.

Speaking on the occasion, social reformer Mithilesh Kumar said that the country needed to set aside the colonial mindset and understand that our country is not just a piece of land but ‘Swayambhu Rashtra’. He said that ‘Sanatan Sanskriti’ has been flourishing in India for thousands of years now.

CEC Director Prof Bhushan Nadda lighted the lamp. Employees from CEC and IUAC attended the programme along with their families.
