Fearing a setback to Kashmir’s tourism industry at a crucial time, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday met top Union ministers in New Delhi and pressed for a review of the proposed October closure of Srinagar Airport, arguing that uninterrupted air connectivity is vital during the Valley’s peak tourist season.

With the two deaths in Betul, the total death toll in Madhya Pradesh has risen to 16. This includes 14 deaths in Chhindwara district—11 in the Parasia subdivision, two in Chhindwara town, and one in Chaurai tehsil.

The victims, identified as Raj Kumar (41) and his daughter Sushila (21), were admitted to a local hospital with injuries.
"As a friendly neighbour and first responder, India remains committed to providing any assistance that may be required," PM Modi added.
The event was organised by the Association of 41 Clubs of India Area 9 in collaboration with the SGPGI Breast Health Programme.
