The Jammu and Kashmir Police seized “incriminating articles” during searches on Thursday morning in seven locations of three districts of Kashmir as part of its investigation into a case registered with the State Investigative Agency (SIA) in connection with ‘online journalists threat’ case.

The searches were carried out following leads received from earlier raids a few days ago, the Srinagar Police said.

The eaids were conducted in Srinagar, Budgam and Pulwama and incriminating materials seized, said the Srinagar police.

“Searches are going on in multiple locations in Srinagar, Budgam and Pulwama districts in connection with ‘online journalists threat’ case. This is subsequent to the leads received from searches done a few days ago in the same case”, tweeted Srinagar Police.

Places searched:

  1. Showkat Mota in Srinagar
  2. Khaksar Nadeeb Adnan in Srinagar.
  3. Haji Hayat’s home in Pampore
  4. Haji Hayat’s office in Srinagar
  5. Ishfaq Reshi in Badgam
  6. Asif Dar (based abroad)
  7. Saqib Magloo in Srinagar

Earlier on 19 November, in the wake of a threat to Kashmir-based journalists by a proscribed terror outfit, the Srinagar Police conducted simultaneous searches at various locations across Kashmir.

According to police, FIR under relevant sections of law was registered in Shergari police station against terror handlers, active terrorists and terrorist associates of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and its offshoot of The Resistance Front (TRF) for online publication and dissemination of direct threat letters to journalists and reporters of Kashmir.
