Minister Kashyap informed the state assembly during question hour on Thursday that since 2023-24, not a single eligible student from the backward classes in the state has been denied scholarships.

He said that the double-engine government under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath believes in delivering on the ground, not just making announcements. There will be no shortage of funds for scholarships and fee reimbursements.

He explained that the department’s budget was ₹1,286 crore under the previous government, while under the Yogi government, it has increased to approximately ₹3,500 crore, representing a nearly three-fold increase. The minister said that this year, a target has been set to provide scholarships to 3.8 million students, and according to departmental rules, not a single eligible student will be left out.
