Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that his government will use all its strength to extract the Indian nationals stranded in Gulf countries amid the US-Iran war. Addressing a gathering in Kerala’s Kochi, PM Modi asserted that the new India will not leave its citizens alone in times of crisis.
“Whenever our citizens get stuck in another country, we use all our strength to help them. Be it rescuing nurses in Iraq or saving Father Tom from terrorists in Yemen, today’s Bharat does not leave its citizens alone in times of crisis. Even today our effort is to ensure that Indians caught in this conflict get safety and every possible assistance,” he said.

Expressing his gratitude to the governments in Gulf countries for protecting Indian nationals, PM Modi said that Indian embassies in the region are monitoring the situation 24×7 and providing all the help to citizens.
“I am also grateful that the governments in Gulf countries are protecting our citizens. Our Indian embassies are helping them 24 by 7. Be it food, medical or legal help, everything is being provided,” he added.
Attacks Congress, Left for ‘doing politics even during the war’
The Prime Minister also launched a scathing attack on Congress and the Left, accusing the Opposition parties of indulging in politics and trying to create fear in the country even during the time of war.
But it is sad that even in such global crises, Congress is doing politics and making remarks that can worsen the situation and put people in trouble, so that they can ultimately blame Modi. Congress and the Left have made the country more and more dependent on foreign nations. Today they are together spreading rumours. Even during this time of war, Congress, the Left and their ecosystem are putting all their strength into creating fear in the country. I would say to the nation to stay cautious and alert to the rumours being spread by Congress and the Left,” he said.
‘Highlights the importance of self-reliance’
PM Modi emphasized the importance of self-reliance and highlighted the efforts of his government to reduce dependence on other countries.
“The present crisis has once again proved how important it is to become Atmanirbhar. To reduce dependence on other countries in the energy sector, the government has taken many steps in recent years. We have increased our solar capacity. Work on solar projects has started in Keralam as well. To reduce dependence on petrol and diesel, electric vehicles are being promoted. 100 percent electrification of railways is being carried out,” he added.
