A man murdered his wife in a brutal attack near a traffic signal in the Oshiwara area of Mumbai’s Andheri West, police officials said on Wednesday.
As per police, the accused first assaulted his wife with a large stone and later slit her throat with a knife. He took the extreme step following a heated argument, IANS reported.

Soon after, he managed to run away from the spot, but was arrested a few hours later by police.
The incident took place on Tuesday night near a traffic signal located a short distance away from the Oshiwara Police Station.
Police officials said that the accused attacked his wife after a dispute broke out between them over an issue.
As the argument intensified, the man picked up a large stone and attacked the victim. He did not stop here and later used a knife to slit her throat.
Officials informed that the woman suffered severe bleeding and collapsed at the spot.
After receiving information, a Oshiwara Police Station team arrived at the spot and shifted the injured woman to the Cooper Hospital for treatment. However, doctors later declared her dead.
Following a search operation, police was able to arrest the accused within a few hours after the incident.
A murder case has been filed against the man under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation in the matter is currently underway.
