Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said on Tuesday that the State Government is expanding air services to make remote areas accessible, with the aim to establish one airport every 150 kilometres, and one airstrip every 75 kilometres across the state.

The CM noted that this will connect not only urban centres but also rural and remote regions to the air network.

CM Dr. Yadav informed that, as part of strengthening air connectivity in Madhya Pradesh, new airports have been inaugurated in Rewa, Satna and Datia. As a result, the number of airports in the state has increased from five to eight. An agreement has also been finalised for a new airport in Shivpuri.

The CM asserted that Madhya Pradesh is moving rapidly towards becoming one of the leading states in air connectivity. The initiative aims to boost tourism, trade and emergency services. The development of new airports and airstrips will not only enhance connectivity but also generate local employment and accelerate economic growth, he stated.
