The police on Saturday arrested a notorious criminal along with two of his accomplices and recovered around 4 kg gold, Rs 8.5 lakh in cash, a Santro car, and a mobile phone from their possession.

Susheel Kumar and the two other had looted 15 kg gold from Mannapuram Finance Limited two days back. Police got a tip on Saturday that Susheel, Bhagat Singh, and Deepak Kumar will be coming to Melange Mall of Modipuram area to sell the stolen gold. A team was constituted which reached the spot and nabbed the three as soon as they arrived there.

Later, addressing the media, Additional Director General of Zone Prashant Kumar appreciated the work of the police team and announced a reward of Rs 50,000 for them.

The ADG, while confirming the arrest of Susheel, Deepak, and Bhagat, told the media that police teams are conducting raids to arrest the other criminals who were involved in the loot and recover rest of the looted gold.

Susheel, the mastermind of the crime, arrived at the finance company on Thursday evening along with his aide in the guise of a customer. Thereafter, the two took the staff of the company hostage at gunpoint. Manager Sachin Tomar tried to resist but they overpowered him and ran away with the gold. Sachin sustained injuries in the scuffle.

As per the plan, Susheel and his aide met the others at Baghpat Road and divided the gold among them.

Meanwhile, the matter was immediately reported to the police who swung into action and managed to solve the case in less than two days.

Susheel is a resident of village Dadri in Daurala area. He was the mastermind of the kidnapping of Dr Srikant Gaur of Metro Hospital in 2017. He carried a reward of Rs 50,000 on his head. Though he was arrested by an STF team he was currently out on bail.
